LES BROWN TOP 10 RULES FOR SUCCESS
Les Brown is an American author, motivational speaker and former talk show host. As a motivational speaker, he is famous for his catch phrases, “It’s possible!” and “It’s necessary!” and he has inspired thousands of people, me included, to chase their dreams. Les Brown was one of my very first speakers to be introduced to, back in the days when I was in the university as a student. He was the one who inspired me to be a radio presenter without even going to college. Les Brown’s net worth is estimated to be $10 million.
And here are Les Brown top ten rules for success.
1. Believe in yourself.
These days many people are learning new sales techniques at seminars including how to control and close the sale. The truth is, you can learn all the techniques in the world but if you don’t believe in yourself, you will never make it. When you believe in yourself, you will begin to see a difference in the things you’re doing.
2. Amaze customers.
You need to be flexible because in this customer-driven economy, it is necessary to explore various ways to improve the quality of the services you are providing. If you’re going to compete today, you must look for ways to amaze your customers.
3. Take Full Responsibility for Your Life.
Accept where you are and the responsibility to take yourself where you want to go. We have two primary choices in life; we can either accept our circumstances or we can take the responsibility to change them. It’s time to stop talking about the problem and start taking responsibility for your life. Refuse to be a voluntary victim. Begin by reinventing yourself if what you are doing no longer works.
4. Stand up to Yourself.
An important part of empowering yourself is learning how to stand up to yourself. What does this mean? There is a constant negative dialogue inside your head that always puts you down and tells you that you can’t do something. You need to resist it by firmly telling your inner voice to shut up. The only way to go forward is to ignore that negative voice inside you and to take the first step.
5. Go all Out.
You must make a firm declaration that you have decided to stand up for your dreams, for your health and for peace of mind. You want it and you’re going to go all out to get it. Change is never easy. If it were easy everybody would be able to do it. If you’re really serious you will go all out.
6. Stay Busy.
If you are facing a challenge, don’t stop. Stay busy and work on your plan. Continue to do the things that you know work for you after you have evaluated yourself and the situation. Keep moving. Stay busy.
7. Give more than you are Paid for.
Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, do it with everything that you have. Give it your all. Develop the habit of giving more than what you are paid for. Develop the habit of setting standards that others will be measured by. Do not go where the path may lead. Go where there is no path and leave a trail.
8. Someone’s Opinion is Not your Reality.
In the process of working on your dreams you will encounter a lot of failures and setbacks. You will also discover that you have greatness within you and you don’t have to be a victim of your circumstances. Someone’s opinion of you does not have to become your reality. You are not stupid just because people think you are stupid.
9. You’re Different.
You are different from everybody else because you want more out of life and you are willing to go the extra mile to get to the top. Don’t worry of people don’t get it. Don’t waste your time trying to convince them. You are a different breed and that is because you fill your mind with good inspirational things and you know what it takes to succeed.
10. Don’t stop running towards your Dream.
Les Brown was declared “educable mentally retarded” while in grade school and his first years as an entrepreneur were very hard since he often had to sleep on the floor of his office. Despite all this, he never stopped running towards his dreams and he persevered until he achieved them. This passion is the secret of true success.
